Magic Moves Philosophy ~ Dance has so many positives! Students develop in a range of areas: coordination, flexibility, health, confidence, persistence, self esteem, communication, fitness, team work, social skills etc. Magic Moves is an environment where students are encouraged to dance for FUN! We challenge students to extend their skills and we always aim for SUCCESS!

Hi my name is Tanya Kirkright (previously Tanya Bobin) and I am the Director of Magic Moves School of Dance. This is my 24th year of dancing and I have been teaching dance for over 12 years at a range of different Dance Studios & Primary Schools. In all my years of dance I have studied a range of styles such as jazz ballet, tap, ballet, funk, hip hop, modeling courses and vocal work. I have completed various dance examinations including my associate teacher’s certificate with the DFTA syllabus as well as my associated teacher’s certificate with Southern Federation of Dance (SFD) and I have received the highest result.
Over the years I have performed in many venues from local festivals through to Professional work at city functions and dance clubs.
I have choreographed the Watsonia Heights PS annual concert for prep to grade six students for ten years. I have also choreographed the Watsonia Heights PS Wakakirri and Rock Eisteddfod Items for eight years, where items were selected for the state finals. In 2006 the Wakakirri item came second in the Victorian State Finals in the Highest Division.
I am a qualified Primary & Early Childhood Teacher who has been teaching for just over 8 years after graduating from University six months early due to high achievement with Honours. In 2003 I was awarded as the Herald Sun Primary Graduate Teacher of the Year.

Zumba®
ADULTS & TEENS

Zumba® is a new fitness workout which has been developed in America and your Magic Moves staff have been trained in the art of Zumba.® It is fun and helps you burn calories. Zumba ® is a great style where we can incorporate our own flare and it can be altered to suit beginners to advanced, males and females and various age groups!
All classes begin with a gentle stretch, you learn some basic steps and then develop them into the combinations and routines whilst getting your heart pumping. Finally a cool down stretch is just what your body ordered.
Come and exercise in a group, bring your friends work with our supporting staff. You may choose to attend one session a week or for those that are looking for more attend two or three sessions a week the choice is yours.
Zumba® with your bub, they can sit or sleep in their pram up the back of our studio or lye on a mat in front of you while you Zumba® We understand it is hard to do a fitness class now that a baby is in your life so bring them along. We understand if you need a second to bob down and put a dummy in or talk to them while you jig! We even incorporate sections where you can include baby if you like.
